Tips for Living a Healthy Anti-Aging Lifestyle - Resveratrol

Illness Either Comes from Outside our Body like an Accident, Virus and other Contagious Disease. OR we have Illness Come to us from the Inside which is most often due to the Lifestyle we chose to live. Are you interested in Anti-Aging and being as healthy, limber and full of Energy into your Senior Years? All too often we choose how healthy we are through our life but also how we express our senior years.

We have known for many years that in the time of our grandparents and parents, illness and disease came to us in throughout our lives, both young to mid to senior years from Illness spread by disease. It was rare to have someone become incapacitated and then die from their life style. Scientists now say this is the first time they expect parents to outlive our children because of life style.

Science clearly has proven though exhaustive testing that chronic disease as well as all the other leading causes of death and even years often spent in nursing homes, can be directly prevented or at the least, controlled. The answer is simple life style changes, often changes that are not that difficult to adjust to.

Science has proven that many of the chronic diseases and leading causes of death can be prevented or at least controlled, often through simple lifestyle changes. Adopting the following healthy behaviors will promote better living and a healthy anti-aging lifestyle.

Many Baby Boomers are the first generation to embrace health and wellness, not just as a way of life, but through knowledge that it can change their lives both on the short term and the latter years of life. They go at it with a plan to win, not to fail.

Some Activities to consider for Health and Wellness in your Anti-Aging Plan:

Look at those activates that you already know are damaging your body and break your habits by replacing with a healthier plan. There is NO need here to go on about how smoking, drinking more than occasional alcohol, eating fast foods on the run and working to many hours – thus burning yourself out and missing on the juice of life.

Engage in Regular exercise. Now how many times have you been told that? We all know that exercise is one of the keys to health BUT we are to busy, or just can not get in the grove or possibly just not believed in the results you can get in a short period of time. Your results will affect you and how you age in a dramatic way.

There are many types of exercise (always consult with your physician before taking on a new plan). To prevent osteoporosis or slow it down, you need weight bearing exercise: walk briskly is the key for this one. If you live where you know you will not do that consistently in rain or snow, invest in a treadmill. We put ours at the foot of our bed where it is in our face every day, not shut away in garage under a pile of stuff.

Then we all need cardio exercise. Again your physician can tell you what your ideal heart rate should be while exercising. There are a huge amount of exercises in this area, find ONE!

Finally you need something to keep you limber so you do not stiffen and loose mobility as you age. My preference is Yoga and there are many varieties. Anti-Aging takes planning and commitment on your part but it beats the problems we generate due to poor health. Some of which plague us for many years.

Nutrition:

Supersize and fast foods have taken over this country. That and quick takeout meals or prepared meals from the freezer at the store. Yuck! No wonder we lack health and vitality. You already know this, b
ut eat a balanced Diet that is low in saturated fats, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads and grains. Basically shop the outside ring of the grocery store. And you may not want to hear this BUT get rid of the microwave as it damages the nutritional value of the food you are eating. If you cannot see totally getting rid of it, put it in the garage so you and family have to work to go use it. Makes you think on the way.

Resveratrol has been well studied by many scientists and has been shown to have dramatic affect on multiple mechanism of cellular aging. This includes the changes of your DNA that starts from the moment you are born and continues on to your passing.
It has shown protection of DNA and repair that supports cellular function and your quality of longevity. Plan on as healthy and vibrant life as you move though each stage of life, becoming frail and ill before your years is not always necessary.

It is important to increases your Vitamin D as it has been found to reduce the risk for all-cause mortality. Then look to
Calcium & D for your bones as normally people do not even come close to eating what they need in a balanced nutritional plan. DNA replication and all forms of antioxidant nutrients such as Vitamins C and E will help to deal with the stress we all live with. With it comes cellular anti-aging! A well balanced Natural Vitamin Supplement is well advisied.

So it is decision time, because no decision is a decision. Health and Vitality OR Same Old Routine?

Article WebMed - Red Wine vs. Colon Cancer

Study Shows Abnormal Colon Growths Less Likely in Those Who Drink Red Wine

By Miranda Hitti WebMD Health News and Reviewed by Louise Change, MD Oct. 24, 2006

People who drink three or more glasses of red wine a week are less likely to get the abnormal colon growths that can lead to cancer according to a new study.

The study was done by Joseph Anderson, MD, and colleagues at New York's Stony Brook University. It was presented at the American College of Gastroenterology's annual scientific meeting in Las Vegas.

The study looked at the habits of more than 1,700 people who were, on average, in their late 50s. It also checked for the incidence of abnormal colon growths, including polyps.

The researchers found that 3% of red wine drinkers had such abnormal growths, compared with nearly 9% of white wine drinkers and almost 10% of teetotalers.

The study doesn't prove red wine prevents or treats colon cancer and the researchers aren't recommending red wine for colon cancer prevention.

But they suggest that a compound found in grapes and red wine - the antioxidant resveratrol -- may cut the odds of getting abnormal colon growths that can become cancerous. No Recommendations.

Colon cancer is the No. 3 cancer for U.S. men and women.
Doctors often can't explain why one person gets cancer and another doesn't. Many factors may play a role.

Anderson doesn't recommend drinking red wine if you don't already drink. In an American College of Gastroenterology news release, he says a healthy lifestyle is essential in cutting the risk of abnormal colon growths.

Whether you drink or not, it is also important to get screened as recommended. Tests are generally recommended for everyone starting at age 50, although they may begin earlier for high-risk patients.

About the Study

The study gathered information about the 1,700 participants smoking, drinking, exercise, diets, BMI (body mass index), and use of painkilling nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Most participants said they never drank.

But 176 said they drank red wine more than three times a week, and 68 said they drank white wine more than three times weekly.

Those who drank three or more glasses of red wine a week were the least likely to have abnormal colon growths, including polyps.

However, the red wine drinkers had other traits that may have cut their cancer risk. They tended not to smoke and to be male.

Red Wine Advantage?

The researchers aren't sure why the red wine drinkers had fewer abnormal colon growths.

But they suggest resveratrol may play a role. The compound is found in grapes, raspberries, peanuts, and other plants.

Red wine is richer in this antioxidant than white wine.

That's "because the [grape] skins are removed earlier during white-wine production," Anderson explains in the news release.

Anti-Aging Resveratrol Tonic: Alzheimrs Testimonial

WOW!! The testimonials just keep rolling in on Vivix, Shaklee's anti-aging resveratrol product.Freda sent this to us...This really touched our hearts as Ed's wonderful mom had this and it was so sad to see how she no longer recognized her own son and how I became the maid who brought her lunch, etc.... She lived with us for quite awhile........ We can't go back and give her Vivix but I can certainly carry out the message in her memory.

DISCLAIMER: This testimonial herein does not represent Shaklee's position on their products. It comes entirely from the experiences of a satisfied consumer

Below is an update from Mary Hannon. Many of you know Mary and Maureen, whose Mom has Alzheimer's and has been living with Mary & Jeff for the last 10 years as she requires 24/7 care.

On a side note, Mary hasn't been able to spend much time on her Shaklee business for the past 3 years because she's been caring for her Mom, yet their Shaklee checks (with a comma in them) has been coming every single month because of the work she put into her business when she first started. I love this company.

Testimony from Mary Hannon: For the first time in a few years, my mom made a sandwich for herself!!!! We are really starting to think that Vivix is making a difference. Her appetite is definitely improved and she referred to me as her daughter to someone the other day! We're actually thinking of discontinuing her Aricept completely. Seems like it may be doing more harm than good? What a surprise!

We started her on it as soon as it was available to the public. When it went on backorder we all got off it for a month or so, maybe even 8 weeks. I'd say in total she's been on it for 3-4 months maybe a bit less.

Last week Maur showed Mom her wedding photo and Mom said: "That's me!" Maur then said: "Who's that next to you?" Mom said: "That's my husband!" Today I showed her another photo from her wedding (a group photo) and she did not recognize my father but she did recognize her father. I think I'm going to give her 2 teaspoons per day and see what happens!
